Online Poker Rooms Review:  Pacific Poker (PacificPoker.com)

This poker room is offered by Casino-on-Net.  A great place to play if you're a beginner OR more experienced,  Pacific Poker offers plenty of low-limit tables,  and there is freeplay on all games if you'd like to practice to get the feel of the games first.  They offer multiplayer tables with chat of games of  Texas Hold'em,  Omaha Hi,  Omaha Hi-Lo,  7 Card Stud,  and 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo.  The table limits are a wide range,  from $.05/$.10 up to $20/$40.  You can easily find a game that's not too rich if you want to start out slowly and just enjoy yourself.

The graphics present a table with names rather than characters,  but the software is reliable and games run smoothly.  Game histories are available,  and Pacific Poker comps you as you play,  which is nice.  Maximum rake is $3;  Customer Support is rather good:  support is by email and they guarantee prompt replies.

The two features that we like best are:  The promotions,  and the fact that Pacific Poker has no-download Java poker as well as the download version,  so Mac players have a place to go.  The promotions currently include 4 types of contests.  There's a tournament open to all comers,  you needn't qualify beforehand,  and it has a prize pool of $11,355;  a "relay race" series of games with $13,800 at stake;  also in August there is a showdown of 3 Survivor games,  with $15,000 in prize money to be won,  and a grand finale with only 5 winners to share $5,000.

Pacific Poker has onsite a series of poker tips articles --  "Poker School Lessons"  -- that make a lot of sense.  We look forward to seeing more in their archive.  Altogether,  this poker room gives a lot of return.
